Job Description

What will be your responsibilities?

  • maintain, test, and evaluate large-scale data processing solutions.

  • expertise and practical support in developing data platform solutions.

  • for data pipeline development and maintenance, including data sourcing, extraction, cleansing, transformation, and validation.

  • design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes and optimizing data delivery.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Proficiency: Strong proficiency and hands-on experience with Snowflake, including its features, functionalities, and best practices for data warehousing and analytics.

  • Expertise: At least 8 years hands on experience in SQL databases and/or data warehouses, including complex query writing, performance optimization, and troubleshooting (within the Snowflake environment is preferred).

  • Administration: Familiarity with Snowflake administration tasks, such as user and role management, security configurations, resource monitoring, and query optimization.

  • Experience: Proficiency in either Tableau or Power BI for creating visually compelling and interactive reports and dashboards based on Snowflake data.

  • Experience: Experience working with Snowflake in at least one major cloud platform, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

  • in Terraform and cloud provisioning is considered a plus.

  • Architecture and Services: Understanding of cloud architecture and services provided by the chosen cloud platform, including storage options, compute resources, networking, and security features.

  • Warehousing Concepts: Proficiency in data warehousing concepts, including data modelling, schema design, ETL/ELT processes, and data loading strategies.

  • experience in writing and configuring stored procedures, functions, and triggers. Exposure to large, complex data environments; big data environments highly desirable.

  • Governance and Security: Understanding of data governance principles, data privacy regulations, and security practices within the Snowflake platform, including data encryption, access controls, and data masking.

  • Optimization, Troubleshooting and Problem-solving: Ability to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, optimize query execution plans, and fine-tune Snowflake configurations to ensure efficient data processing. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and address data-related issues, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions within the Snowflake ecosystem.

  • and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders, understand business requirements, and translate them into technical solutions using Snowflake. Ability to work with business users to gather reporting requirements and deliver actionable insights through Tableau or Power BI.

  • Skills (Desirable): Experience with Matillion and/or Azure Data Factory (ADF) for data integration and ETL processes.

  • Challenge: Successful completion of the attached interview challenge within 3 calendar days, demonstrating practical skills and problem-solving abilities related to Snowflake, SQL, and data warehousing concepts
