RESPONSIBILITIES

POSITION SUMMARY The Test Engineer will participate in the agile software development processes for web applications and ensure compliance with COBIT 5 standards and requirements.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Create manual and automated test designs (test suites / automation scripts).
- Perform manual and automated tests on feature changes and its related systems.
- Report and track defects and make recommendations for the release.
- Create a test strategy by using different testing techniques to ensure quality and success of product releases including functional, regression, performance, synthetics testing and system tests.
- Closely work with the development engineering team and DevSecOps for identifying opportunities for automation.
- Closely work with both the development engineering and product management/LOBs to plan holistic testing and plan product releases.
- Constantly look for tools and industry practices that can be applied to the test engineering practice.
- Test using one or more open-source automated testing tools (VSTS E2E Automation testing, Selenium, JMeter, Katalon, etc.)
- Perform REST API testing using tools such as Postman
- Ability to configure testing environments (setting up Windows or Linux VMs, basic database administration, etc.)
- Performs other related function as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of work unit

REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS
Educational Background:
College degree in Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication), Computer Science, Information Technology, Technology Management or equivalent.
Work Experience:
At least 5 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
At least 1 year experience working on an Agile Scrum environment.
Experience working in a DevOps environment an advantage.
Familiarity with one or more open-source automated testing tools (Automation testing, Selenium, Load Testing)
Familiarity with REST API testing using tools such as Postman
Knowledge of version control systems (like Git, VSTS)
